BEHIND THE PRODUCT
BEHIND THE PRODUCT
Step into the drivers seat.
The men's Burton Ripcord brings an easygoing ride to accelerate your riding into more advanced terrain. It's a classic directional board with a little more nose than tail for the control to handle mixed conditions. A softer and more playful flex opens the door to more moves, while giving you more room to grow than most entry level boards.

PRODUCT FEATURES
Key Features:
- Glassing: Carbon Highlights: Carbon Highlights optimizes each layer of the fiberglass matrix and adds a full tip-to-tail carbon layer to reduce weight and fine tune torsional feel to achieve different ride characteristics. A 60° fiber angle creates a highly maneuverable and playful feel, while a 45° fiber angle provides a more aggressive ride.
- Core: Super Fly II™ 900G Core with Dualzone™ EGD™: Burtons’ classic tip-to-tail wood core, the 900G model utilizes the best of two wood species to lighten the load by 10% without sacrificing flex, pop, or strength.
- Base: Extruded Base: Low and easy maintenance, less expensive. Great for beginners and Freestyle riders.
In-depth Tech Specs:
- Profile: Flat: A completely flat base allows for complete stability, making it the ideal board profile to learn to snowboard on. When the rider’s weight is on the board the nose and tail are kicked up for a catch free and loose riding experience.
- Shape: Directional: Directional shapes generally feature a longer, softer nose and a shorter, stiffer tail. These shapes thrive in an all-mountain environment, as they possess the ability to ride more smoothly than their twin-tip counterparts and behave more reliably in variable snow conditions, anywhere from choppy snow to deeper powder. More twin-looking directional shapes where the difference between nose and tail appear minimal will perform best as crossover freestyle snowboards for those looking to still access the park, while more exaggerated differences will excel for additional float in deep powder.
- Flex: 3, A softer board for progression
