BEHIND THE PRODUCT
BEHIND THE PRODUCT
High-performance, low-angle, touch-the-ground turns are the hallmark of traditional
Japanese-style snowboarding, and the Padre draws heavy inspiration from the
region of the world that has been snow-surfing for over fifty years. This board is a
set-back, directional, Japanese-influenced gun shape with a powerful camber profile
that goes fast and turns hard.

PRODUCT FEATURES
Key Features:
- Glassing: Mixed - Mixed glassing on this Snowboard refers to a triax over biax lay-up. This means that the board is constructed with layers of fiberglass oriented in different directions: triaxial fiberglass (fibers running in three directions) over biaxial fiberglass (fibers running in two directions).
- Core: Highland ll Core - A 10 / 20 blend of Poplar and Paulownia for a lighter, more responsive version of the Highland Core.
- Base: Sintered - The Padre Snowboard features a sintered base, which is known for its durability and excellent performance in various snow conditions. Sintered bases are made by compressing polyethylene pellets under high pressure, resulting in a dense and fast surface that absorbs wax well. This makes the GPS Snowboard ideal for advanced riders who need a reliable and speedy board for technical cross-terrain snowboarding.
In-depth Tech Specs:
- Profile: Parabolic Camber - Unlike traditional camber, which has a single radius arc, parabolic camber blends five separate radii to create a more advanced parabolic arc. This design gradually reduces the amount of camber toward the tip and tail of the snowboard. The parabolic shape ensures that the outside contact points do not dig too far into the snow, providing cleaner and less catchy performance.
- Shape: Directional Twin - While the board is designed to perform well when ridden in one direction (with a slightly longer nose than tail), it also maintains a symmetrical flex pattern, allowing for versatility in freestyle riding and switch riding. Additionally, the board includes dual-radius nose and tail ramping, which helps reduce hang-ups and enhances powder float, making it a great choice for both freestyle and all-mountain riding.
- Flex: 8 The medium-stiff flex ensures that the board can handle high speeds and aggressive maneuvers while still offering enough flexibility to navigate varied terrain effectively.
