BEHIND THE PRODUCT

The Doughboy was created in the late 80s by Mike Olson when snowboarding was still rapidly evolving, and no one knew where Lib was headed except Jamie Lynn. Mike’s concept was a longer camber board on a fixed width stance would provide a smoother ride through rough terrain, float incredibly in powder and the big tips and tails would carve into beautiful arcs on hardpack and ice... he was right! This thing looks a bit intimidating, but it rides like a magical freestyle dream from an alternative universe... the inside of Mike’s mind... Lib's friend Chauncy launches progressive spin missions of this platform on the daily. All the good stuff is built in... eco sublimated TNT fast & Low maintenance base, Aspen Paulownia core, rugged UHMW sidewalls and tip and tail and the new light, strong, Magesium Techno fiber band glass and carbon reinforcement keep this boy poppin.

In-depth Tech Specs:

  • Profile: Camber - Precision, control and pop. The side profile of camber looks like a rainbow. Tried and true, camber has been the dominant board bend in the snowboard industry for 40 years. Adopted from the bend of alpine skis, camber snowboards deliver precise turning and edge control, with spring-loaded pop due to the bend in the board, providing better jumping characteristics. Advanced riders tend to prefer this bend, especially for hard carving and high-speed riding. Even when it comes to softer park snowboards, camber boards deliver exceptional pop and control.
  • Shape: Directional Twin - Directional twins have a symmetrical flex pattern, but the shape of a directional board, with a longer nose and shorter tail. This design provides freestyle flexibility with the improved floatation qualities of a directional board. Some directional twins may have a twin shape, better for riding in both directions, but matched with an asymmetrical flex pattern. The tail keeps stiff for turns and efficiency with the nose long and soft for powder and stability.
  • Flex: 6.5 - Versatility at its finest. From the park to the peak and anywhere in between.
